CS Yacht Owners West Privacy Policy

• CS Yacht Owners West ("CS West") will use reasonable measures to protect members' private information and will not knowingly disclose such information other than as set out herein.

• CS West will not solicit, collect or maintain financial or other sensitive information from or in respect of its members. Generally, private information of members in CS West'spossession is limited to:
  
  
  • mailing address
  • phone number(s) - listed only
  • e-mail address(es)
  • boat ownership, i.e., sole or joint
  • particulars of boat(s)
    
    
  and no member is obliged to disclose to CS West any phone number or e-mail address, or any boat particulars beyond name, model and age.
  
  
• Solely for the benefit of members, CS West periodically produces and distributes to its members a membership data list containing in respect of all members some or all of the data set out in paragraph 2. A member may direct in writing that their mailing address, phone number(s) and/or e-mail address(es) be omitted from distributed membership data lists and not otherwise made available to persons other than CS West's executive committee. CS West's on-line membership application form permits an applicant to give that direction at time of applying for membership. Any member who did not give such direction on their membership application may do so at a later time at their convenience. Once such direction is given, it remains in force until changed, in writing, by the member.
  
  
• CS West makes members' boat particulars generally available on its website.
  
  
• CS West makes available on its website a capability to determine if someone is a member of CS West. This capability is provided primarily to allow chandleries and other businesses who offer discounts to CS West members to confirm that an application for such discount is legitimate. However, this capability is freely available to all website users.
  
  
• In preparing for major rendezvous and other events, CS West may advise representatives of commercial facilities hosting the event of the names of members planning to attend the event and the names, sizes, etc. of their boats.
  
  
• The mention, or inclusion of a picture, of a member and/or their partner or a member's boat in CS West's newsletter or other publicity material is not a breach of this policy.
  
  
• Members may review and update their membership information and boat particulars held by CS West at any time from the website. Alternately, they may contact the Membership Director to do so.
