Executive Committee Roles
The descriptions of the various roles are listed below for your information:
Commodore:

Raffle Director
Commodore:
- Chair executive committee meetings,
- Provide overall direction to the executive committee,
- Conduct member meetings,
- Ensure that minutes are taken at meetings and circulated to executive committee and/or membership
- Conduct member surveys and publicize results.
Vice Commodore/Activities Director:
- Oversee detail planning and implementation of the events of the association.
- Solicit one or more coordinators from among the membership for each major event to assist in organizing and running the event.
- Ensure that rendezvous announcements are provided to communications director and posted to web site
- Publicize rendezvous and meetings with Pacific Yachting and other West Coast boating magazines.
Membership Director:
- Maintain member data on the website database.
- Attempt to maintain a list of all other CS boats and owners in the Pacific Northwest as prospective members.
- Collect membership dues.
- Prepare and distribute membership data lists.
- Maintain albums documenting the history of CS West.
- Manage burgee inventory and distribution.
- Use email distribution list to notify members of upcoming events
Treasurer:
- Receive and account for all money.
- Maintain bank account.
- Pay all bills.
- Prepare financial reports.
Communications Director:
- Assemble, edit and publish newsletter four times per year.
- Liaise with the webmaster in the maintenance of the CS West website.
- Update website with upcoming events
Technical Director
- Provide advice and references on technical issues.
- Organize/present technical seminars at rendezvous (s).
- Maintain inventory of items owned by CS West such as crab cooker, tension gauge
Raffle Director
- Arrange for raffle tickets to be sold at events.
- Buy prizes - within budget approved by the Executive Committee.
- Conduct the raffles.
- Keep track of inventory value of prizes for year-end financials.
- Formula for raffles which results in a break even scenario: Prizes are donated or bought at discount - average cost $20; One prize per couple; Expected raffles sales $10 per couple; Number of prizes roughly equal to 50% of couples participating in the raffle.
